today's bouquet fun

Unidentified clematis, hydrangea, one violet,
a tree peony leaf, and, thrillingly,
my first astrantia.

time to look under the cabinet...

...and pull out the Pimm's. Perfect day for
a garden party. Plus Chelsea is this week.
But once these roses go, it's back
to all green in this shade garden, and I switch
back to beer.

don't hate it because it's beautiful

Yard-shrub bouquet of viburnum and lilac, both
with no scent, garnished with
roadside wildflowers that
smell very sweet!

The Desolation of Helplessness

Thy name is...the BP spill. I guess this is the
fucking Earth Day lesson I was hoping for last week.
[Careful what you wish for, etc, etc.]
I'm trying to find an organization that only washes birds and
cleans beaches and wetlands. Anybody know
any specific names yet? I can't believe it's just
the World Wildlife Fund, but I could be wrong.

printemps

This is a good year for my poorly old
gnarled flowering trees. Even I haven't
killed them yet!
