NW8 8HR, BITCHES!!
Busy this week falling down in gratitude for another stint
in London this summer. Hubby teaches,
Clueless, vastly and almost scandalously
undeservingly, comes along for the
ride. This time I promise to visit more
gardens...last year we barely got out of
London, there was so much to do/see.
Thank you thank you thank you, Flying
Spaghetti Monster!!

your topical message here...
Update your car's true message! Try these ideas for bumper sticker fun:
* Sorry, don't feel guilty enough to quit driving yet
* Yeah, the spill's bad, but I gotta go pick
up my drycleaning
* My other car is a dead pelican
* Oh, shut up--you're driving, too
a better, finished version of this is over on "I Brake..."

I Got Nothin'
...except I am kind of glad that finally there are some truly horrific
and painful reality shots of oil-soaked animals
from the Gulf, so now we can all collectively
feel more vividly [and most appropriately] guilty.
Those dangerous idiots who asked, "Where's the oil?"
have now been shutted up. Meanwhile, at
surprisingly little inconvenience to any of us,
we keep on with our blithe and murderous habits.

Short oil spill rant--don't worry, won't take too much of your time
I have no insider knowledge of the truth behind the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe, so I must rely on the--gasp--mainstream media. But I am sick of the following coverage, OK?
*How fucking BP's stock is tanking---who the fuck cares?!!! It SHOULD tank!!
*How various BP officials are "doing everything we can."
*How the government is "doing everything we can."
*The implicit assumption in this coverage that something can be done at all, let alone "everything we can."
*The continuous revision of spill amount estimates, without also saying how and why these figures have been prevaricated by the various corporate orifaces that have excreted them.
*The appalling and really deeply shocking lack of coverage of the voices of skepticism and dissent-- the voices of scientists and naturalists and environmentalists--in these stories. This is still predominantly being covered as a BUSINESS story. What could be more wrongheaded???
And on and on...I know I'll think of more as soon as I finish this post.
That said, there is absolutely no getting around that this is everybody's damn fault in the end...somebody has to go get the oil -- yes, they're evil, but we [and this includes me, too-- me is guilty as much as the average person, I reckon] all need them anyhow. And they know it. For shame. For all our shame. Apply liberally in generous quantities.
That is all---I'm off to fill my bulging Hummer tank with hi-test now.
